Soooo.... I need help!
Eventually Gary will be moving all his "garage" stuff into our new garage and I will have 1/4 of the basement back. Ok, WE will have that space back! 😉
I need to purge (also known as get rid of shit as Gary so poetically puts it) BUT..... I don't know where to begin!
This just isn't belongings I'm hoarding for my kids... (like all the boxes of baby books!) but items that I will never use but have guilt over getting rid of! Things that were my mother's, grandmothers, mine as a child.... beautiful "shit" that holds memories! Antiques, heirlooms, baptismal gowns, wedding dresses, sport trophies, incomplete baby books, so many stuffed animals! Even if they are locked up in Rubbermaid totes, catalogued and items listed on lids.
Christmas bins are going to be hit hard this year!
We have three trees! 3! Granted, one belongs to my 13 year old as she won it a couple of years ago at the Stirling Tree display at Farmtown Park. Our older one will come to the store for the holidays. With these trees come bins and bins of decorations too.
Handmade by myself when I was just married with a newborn. Money was tight and we had a homemade Christmas! Love those ornaments. Then we add all the school projects the girls made, or friends, friends children's.... not to mention ornaments bought as gifts and even ones that I bought because, well damn it, I'm an adult and wanted a small tree that was just mine to decorate!!
I'm rambling....a lot and I apologize!
I get overwhelmed, which turns into frustration which in turn eventually becomes acceptance as I will just keep everything and move stuff around.
NOT THIS YEAR!!
It will be a Christmas Miracle on 8th Concession! 😁
And yes... I can't believe I was already talking about Christmas! Must be the cooler weather!
Thankfully, I'm not hosting it this year. This year we make the trek to Chatham for my sister!
One worry off the list lol
Which reminds me, we need to decide a day, a hotel needs to be booked, draw names for gifts....
