Over the weekend I felt the need to freshen up a piece of furniture. I looked around the store and my eyes caught on the small wooden bookcase.
It sat in a corner for a couple of weeks and no one really paid any attention to it.
It was a great candidate because it would be simple and the in store sanding would be at a minimum. Plus... I felt that the two dressers that I currently have are a little bit too precious to put paint on... for now!
I removed the backing of the bookcase and set it aside.
With some 120 grit sand paper in hand I got to work. 30 min later the piece was sanded, cleaned and ready to be painted.
I decided to spice things up with this one and do a two tone scheme. I painted the main body in Country Chic's Crinoline and the interior of the case in their Tropical Cocktail.
Once that was painted and dried, I felt like it need a bit of something more. I bought some super discounted wallpaper months ago and I got to work applying the adhesive. After smoothing out the bubbles, it was looking pretty good.
Once everything was put together I quickly distressed the cabinet and she is all ready for her new home.
You can find her at 13 Main St for $65.
