Here's the thing, I don't really know where to go with this idea of mine. It takes time, effort and money to start almost anything in life.
My goal for a long time has always been to open my own shop. I quaint little store front where I would sell fabulous antiques and one of a kind items. Not to limit myself to this little market I also want to supply a spot to sit and enjoy a cuppa and freshly baked treat. This is my dream. This would be amazing.
For years I have kept a journal/sketch book of my many ideas for this wonderland! Everything to what the store front would look like, to what a label would be, to packaging and uniforms (I am kind of over the whole red Crocs as standard foot wear!)
Originally I wanted to call it "Fleaing Poppies". Kind of weird and unusual I know but it has deep meaning. Fleaing because I wanted to hit up as many flea markets and antique fairs as possible to stock the store along with having bus trips to the larger fairs such as the Christie Antique Show)
Everything planned to the "thanks for coming on this ride" loot bags and what to bring with you to attend. Poppies for my husband and his love for his grandfather who we all called "Poppy" and for my favourite flower that my grandmother had growing along side her house.
As most things, over time, ideas have changed.
We moved to a small four corner place where we live over looking the amazing Northumberland Hills. Most importantly, I have been able to watch my two little girls grow into two amazing young ladies. These two are my 13 & 1!!
So in all, I've changed the name to Brickley 13&1 and incorporated poppies into the logo of this blog, site and someday shop. For now, just keep an eye out for items on Etsy and on here.
