Today was a snow day for my daughters. Not much snow but we had freezing rain from 12:30 till dinner time. Girls were happy to sleep in but they were concerned about their ski trip they were to have with school. Good news, it's rescheduled for next Wednesday.
I planned on painting our mud room today while they were at school and feared this would have to be postponed till tomorrow, thankfully my neighbour asked if the girls can help her with her sheep and help haul some wood. After breakfast, off they went.
Since they were gone, it was time to get my painting on. After a debate with G over a colour to use, I went yesterday with the intention of picking an agreed upon deep mauve colour. I could get the one colour I really wanted out of my head. I just loved it! Even though G said it would be too dark for such a small space, I bought it.
It's called Poppy Seed by Behr. Tomorrow I am going to paint my red fireplace in it too!
After some patching and sanding, the room was ready to get a face lift. Who knew that such a small room would take so long to paint! Two hours for the first coat and just over an hour for the second coat. Lots of doors and cutting in. Glad to say that I, for once didn't bump the ceiling with the roller.
Room is done being painted and I just have to wait for it to dry overnight before the hooks, wall hangings and accessories can go back in. Even as it is, I love it and G says it is the perfect colour in there. It makes a statement for sure!
