In a previous post, I showed a picture of the farmers field full of hay bales. I couldn't get over how amazing it looked against the hills.
For the first time in awhile, I felt like painting for pleasure. I have been doing paintings for friends and special requests. There was nothing that really inspired me to pick up the paint brush and paint what I wanted to paint.
Then I found these little 3x9 canvas at Walmart and I knew what I had to do.
It still took me a couple of days to start it, but after a bit, it began to take form.
Here is the finished landscape painting. I love it and I am in heavy debate about keeping it or selling it.
We will see!
Hope you enjoy the "First Cut" and here's to hoping we get some rain in the forecast to encourage more wheat growth for a second cut for the farmers!
As of lately I just haven't been up to painting.
It's partially because I have been working a lot of hours so we can enjoy a wonderful family vacation in October to Disney World. The other part is because my space in the basement is kind of in shambles right now. My whole work space is covered with boxes, papers that need to be sorted and filed, clippings of ideas for art pieces. It is uninspiring. It's terrible.
I want to paint, but once I go down there, I just turn around and walk away from it.
This week I have started 3 pieces of art for a little boys 2nd birthday, which I am excited about! I love Mickey Mouse and these are so cute!
I will share those pictures and once my area is tidied up I will get cracking and finish the paintings that I have started and are currently resting in a corner for their finishing details!
