To continue on with the before and after tour of our house, I am trying to stay within the main floor then work my way through out the remaining rooms. Hopefully I will publish all of these blog entries before we move into the new house! Hopefully!!
As you know, when we first looked at this house the first impressions did not suit well with me. Like come on, I was moving away from a century old stunner in a small town where your money bought you a lot of house!
Instead, when you walked into this home you saw yellow, beige and well boring!! There was no "wow factor"! You walk into this house and besides the wall you look to your left and see a toilet!
I think we lived with this room like this for almost 8 months! Then valentines day came and I asked for the bathroom to be done. Not just done but wallpapered. My husband hated me!
I bought really nice Ralph Lauren wallpaper to be used at our old home but found out Gary was being relocated so I held onto it. (I'm part pack rat FYI)
The wallpapering process made my eyes all squirrelly. He said never again! **he did wallpaper again, hence the dining room**
When it was all done I felt like it was still missing something.
Eventually we put in a new wood floor to cover the grey sheet vinyl that was in there.
Needless to say, the trim never went up.
This is pretty much how it stayed for another year till two months ago! Right before my daughters confirmation he painted the lower half red for me. Now the room feels finished and now we feel it's time to move! Never fails!
So when you walk into my home, yes to the immediate left is a washroom. Yes you are greeted by a toilet, but it's in a pretty room and come on.... Most time as soon as you walk in. You want to know where the rest room is!! Long car rides with little kids.... Rushing to unlock doors... Accidents do happen!!
